The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) is a division of the US National Security Investigations Division that provides as a conduit for government entities seeking information on nonimmigrants whose major purpose for entering the United States is to be students.

The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) supervises schools, nonimmigrant students on F and M visas, and their families on behalf of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The Department of State (DoS) handles Exchange Visitor Programs, J nonimmigrant exchange guests, and their dependents.

SEVP and DoS employ the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) to track and supervise schools, exchange visitor programmes, and F, M, and J nonimmigrants while they are participating in the U.S. education system.
